Adani Group Announces Commercial Operations Commencement at Vizhinjam Seaport

Adani Ports has announced the official commencement of commercial trial cargo handling at Vizhinjam Port in Kerala. This deepwater transshipment facility offers a 20-meter draft, allowing large container carriers to dock directly without feeder vessel support. The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority welcomed the initiative, highlighting that it will capture transshipment traffic currently routing via Colombo and Singapore. The total phase 1 project investment reached Rs 7,700 crore, supported by government Viability Gap Funding.
